MMG517 CA01 Research Methods for Managers

Deliverable/Individual Project

ILP/Topic of Interest – Research Methodology

Goal: Building on the skills and knowledge developed during the course, you will create and demonstrate/pilot your research design model/instrument.

Expectation:

Develop a professional presentation which includes the following components:

  1. Clear, concise description of your specific research problem/topic of interest

  2. Reason(s) for your interest in this problem/topic

  3. Research methodology – Consider types to be used for your research and select one.  Determine information needs and value:  What info/data are you attempting to collect?  Why is it important?  How will it be used?

  4. Target audience/sample (if applicable) – Provide a profile or description of the target audience or sample with who you are conducting research.  Explain reason(s) for this selection.

  5. Create appropriate research design model/instrument along with any associated documentation (i.e., cover letter, interview guide, etc.)
  • Demonstrate/pilot your research model or instrument with your classmates
  • Receive constructive feedback about your research model or instrument from your classmates
  • Total length of presentation and demonstration/pilot 10 –  15 minutes plus time for Q & A

Due:  Dec 3, 10, 17 & Jan 7, 2009 (you will be given an opportunity to sign up for a time slot for your final presentation)
